Since 2011 we support the car rental company Hertz Switzerland with PR stunts, media relations, events and content productions.
Event: Women Parking Challenge
In March 2011, Hertz wanted an event that would draw public attention to Hertz's range of products and services and give the brand a positive, likeable image. So we created the first Swiss "Women Parking Challenge" and held it in Bern. In addition to the concept, we were also responsible for all PR measures and the Event management responsible for the event. The feedback on the event was so positive that we repeated the event in 2012 and 2013 in front of Zurich's Sihlcity shopping centre.
The participants had to steer a Mercedes-Benz SLK Cabrio backwards into a parking space between two Hertz vans. The most accurate and fastest "parker" was allowed to rent the convertible for free for the entire spring and summer. The successful Swiss motorcycle racer and Hertz ambassador Tom Lüthi judged the participants together with other prominent jury members. We were looking for participants for the Challenge in advance via media calls. With regional and national media coverage, Hertz was able to increase its profile throughout German-speaking Switzerland. The Challenge was even reported on abroad. The idea and implementation of this project also landed second place at the European Excellence Awards 2012.
PR Stunt Crazy Camping
In the summer of 2014 and 2015, we organized the "Hertz Crazy Camping" in cooperation with various Swiss festivals, where people could spend the night in a Hertz van instead of a tent. With the PR idea we picked up a younger target audience and were present throughout the open-air summer.
In the run-up to the event, we held a competition, which we announced via the media. The applicants could win one of the vans for a festival weekend and drive comfortably to the festival. On site, the vans formed their own Crazy Camping "city". But that was not all: With Bachelor Vujo Gavric and the newlyweds Rafael Beutl and Mirjam Jäger, we sent hip and prominent "Crazy Campers" to the festival in both years. In addition, we staged pictures with the prominent faces and arranged media interviews on site. In this way we achieved national coverage of the competition and the campaign, media presence at the festivals and a positive image transfer in the younger target group.
Tom Lüthi's Grand Tour to Ticino
Hertz became a new partner of the Grand Tour Switzerland in 2016 and wanted to announce the cooperation with a media story. With Hertz testimonials Tom Lüthi and Dominique Aegerter, we organised and documented an action-packed day in Ticino to announce the new partnership in this way. We sent the two Swiss motorcycle racers on the Grand Tour route to Ticino in a Hertz rental vehicle. There they sought thrills with canyoning and bungee jumping. We accompanied the entire action and produced exciting Content producedwhich we successfully placed in the media.
100 years jubilee
The long-established car rental company Hertz celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2018. On the occasion of this anniversary, we had the pleasure of organising an event for all employees, moderating it and capturing it by means of Content Production in a video. The aim was to provide the employees with an entertaining and eventful Event which also portrays the various Hertz stations and the teams. The centerpiece of the multimedia event was a short film in which we visited various Hertz stations and met interesting people, captured curiosities, and experienced everyday life at Hertz. What actually makes Hertz the best car rental company in Switzerland? We were able to answer that at the anniversary event in Grindelwald: the employees.
Air Zermatt Cooperation
Another Hertz project is called "Hertz becomes the valley station: the fastest ski lift in Switzerland" and is a cooperation with Air Zermatt and Volvo. The exclusive ski day package can be booked from all over Switzerland. The starting point is any Hertz station. With the SUV Volvo XC90 one drives to the Air Zermatt base in Raron in the Valais. After the car has been parked and the ski equipment and ski pass have been collected, the Air Zermatt helicopter takes off in the direction of the Matterhorn. Afterwards the helicopter lands directly in the skiing area on the Testa Grigia. So the skiing fun can begin in no time!
For this unique cooperation, we invited media from German-speaking Switzerland, French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino to a media trip to Zermatt. The journalists were provided with a rental car at the nearest Hertz station to their place of residence and drove to Zermatt in it. Together with us, they tested the fastest ski lift in Switzerland. Additionally we produced a Image Video - of course with a lot of Storytelling.
Media relations: Hertz MyWeekend
The year 2020: full of changes and new ways! Our customer Hertz has also thought about this and launched a campaign that offers inspiration for the most beautiful detours in Switzerland. Within the framework of MyWeekend Hertz accompanied Swiss personalities such as Tom Lüthi, René Schudel and Co. on their drive to the countryside or a trip to the heights and found out where and how they spend their weekends and holidays. The result is exclusive insights into the private favourite places of Swiss personalities and background stories about their most beautiful detours.
